If you are creating a new group:
When you create a new group, you can choose to make it discoverable by the public or only by group members. To do so, look for “Discoverability” at the bottom of the page after clicking “Create New User Group.” Under “Discoverability,” choose either “Visible” (which means that the group can be found in searches and by browsing public groups) or “Hidden” (which means that the group cannot be found through searches and is only viewable by group members). In addition, the group's manager will set the permissions for each function by selecting whether they are open to all users or group members only. The manager can change the settings for the group pages, including deciding whether to display user comments and page author information (which appears at the bottom of each page, showing the page creator, last modified author, and last modified date).
If you wish to change the discoverability of an existing group:
Log in to your account and click on your profile picture or the silhouette to go to your Dashboard. Click on “Groups” in your Dashboard. Please note that you can change the group setting only if you are a manager of that group. Now, mouse over your desired group and click on the “Gear ⚙️” icon. Next, look for “Discoverability” towards the bottom of the page. Under “Discoverability,” check either “Visible” or “Hidden” and click on the “Save Group” button at the bottom of the page to change the existing setting.
