About
I am the Head of Scholarly Communication and Publishing at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I run the library's press, the Illinois Open Publishing Network (https://iopn.library.illinois.edu/). The press has a lean towards digital humanities publications, particularly those in Scalar or Omeka, as well as open textbooks (generally published in Pressbooks).
From February-June 2024 I was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Victoria's Electronic Textual Cultures Lab, working on research related to user needs for the HSS Commons as well as more general research about information sharing in the humanities. In general, my research involves user studies related to digital publications and digital publishing platforms, particularly in the digital humanities and scholarly communications landscape. Additionally, I have continued to build on some of my prior dissertation work in literature and am the editor and primary investigator of the work-in-progress, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: A Critical Edition (https://iopn.library.illinois.edu/scalar/gpbedition/index), which was peer reviewed by ModNets in fall 2024 and is now in final production.
