“Memoria di carta. Sulla Ricerca delle radici di Primo Levi” is focused on the anthology which collects Levi’s favourite readings, selected by the author not because of their aesthetic value, but because they were connected to very precise biographical experiences. Mariani’s article aims to comment on the inclusions and exclusions of Levi’s peculiar canon, extending these considerations towards a theoretical proposition about the following issues: the phenomenology of reading, the concept of personal anthology—that can be considered as an autobiography—, the relationship between canon and memory.
